Chicken Basil:
Chicken basil, or gai pad gra pow is considered to be the classics of Thai food and is not very difficult to make. The major ingredients required to make chicken basil includes 2tbsp oil, 4-1 thai chili pepper, 1 tbsp sugar, 1-2 packages holy basil, 1/2lb ground chicken, 1 tbsp minced garlic, and 3 tbsp fish sauce.
Cooking directions:
You can mince the garlic and chili pepper together. Wash the gra-pow leaves. These leaves are basically used for flavors. Heat the oil and fry garlic and chili pepper. When the garlic becomes brown, you can put the ground chicken and keep stirring. Keep stirring until all the juice is gone. Add sugar and fish sauce. Now you can add basil and quickly turn it to mix the leaves with the meat and remove from the fire. You can put the gai pad gra pow leaves on the side of serving plate and serve with chicken. Enjoy with rice.
Bamboo Shoot Yum:
The ingredients required are 2 tbsp toasted rice, 1/2 lime, 1 tsp ground dried chili pepper, 2 green onion, 1 tsp fish sauce as well as 1/2 bottle bamboo shoots.
For this dish, the bamboo shoots come in a bottle. These shoots are partially shredded. You need to boil the shredded shoots in water.
When the shoots are boiled, you can add sliced onion, fish sauce, ground dried chili pepper, lime juice and half ground toasted rice. Mix them properly and place on a serving plate. Sprinkle the remaining ground toasted rice. If you want more spicy taste, you can add more chili pepper. Serve the dish with rice.
