Sometimes, people may be making you stressful without you consciously realizing it, by their constant negativity, harping on problems or requests for help. In some cases, you see these people all the time and you can't change this, but you can still set boundaries in terms of what you have to listen to or do for them. While it's good to help when you can, sometimes you have to learn how to detach from the problems around you and recognize there's only so much you can do.

Let go of the reigns from time to time. You will find it more difficult to relax if you allow every little detail out of your control consume you. Make a habit of letting someone else worry about your family, friends and coworkers it's not your job you have to let it go. Try to keep your attention on things you can manage and don't expect to be able to control the rest of the world.

One simple stress management principle is rest. Many of us don't get enough sleep leaving us stressed, run down and sleep deprived. It might be necessary to adjust your schedule so that you are finding yourself in bed much earlier at night. If you think you don't have enough time to sleep more, consider how much time you spend watching television, surfing the internet or playing computer games. Cat naps in the middle of the day can help fill in the gaps when going to bed early or waking up late can't be done. If you have insomnia it may be time to talk to your doctor to help find a solution. Keeping a healthy body and a healthy mind and managing stress is best done with a fresh well rested system.
