Thai cuisine is very much influenced by it's neighbouring countries like China, Malaysia and India. Thai foods are very rich and spicy. But you can also find the taste of sweetness, sourness or even bitterness in many Thai dishes. The common ingredients of Thai cuisine includes herbs such as cilantro, lemon grass, basils and mint.

Chicken Basil:
Chicken basil, or gai pad gra pow is quite easy to make and is one of the classics of Thai food. The major ingredients required to make chicken basil includes 2tbsp oil, 4-1 thai chili pepper, 1 tbsp sugar, 1-2 packages holy basil, 1/2lb ground chicken, 1 tbsp minced garlic, along with 3 tbsp fish sauce.
Cooking directions:
You can mince the garlic and chili pepper together. Clean and pick gra-pow leaves. These leaves are basically used for flavors. Heat the oil and fry garlic and chili pepper. When the garlic becomes brown, you can put the ground chicken and keep stirring. Continue stirring till all the juice is gone. Put fish sauce and sugar. Add the basil leaves to be mixed with the meat and remove from the heat. You can garnish the plate with gai pad gra pow and serve hot. Enjoy with rice.
Bamboo Shoot Yum:
The ingredients required are 2 tbsp toasted rice, 1/2 lime, 1 tsp ground dried chili pepper, 2 green onion, 1 tsp fish sauce as well as 1/2 bottle bamboo shoots.
For this dish, the bamboo shoots come in a bottle. These shoots are partially shredded. You need to boil the shredded shoots in water.
Add sliced onion, fish sauce, ground dried chili pepper, lime juice and half of ground toasted rice. Mix them properly and place on a serving plate. Sprinkle the remaining ground toasted rice. If you want more spicy taste, you can add more chili pepper. Enjoy the dish with sticky rice.
Tips: if you prefer vegetarian food, then you can use soy sauce instead of fish sauce.
